Here is our selection of the most picturesque towns:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Jal\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jalon is a charming small town of the Marina Alta nestled between two mountains. It is famous for its excellent wine cellars, a great opportunity to learn about the whole winemaking process and to enjoy local delicacies of Jal\u00f3n, such as the famous mistela wine (a sweet fortified wine) or the tasty vermouth.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jal\u00f3n has much more to offer and features some interesting historical monuments such as its church, ancestral houses and an ethnological museum that recounts the history of the town.<\/p>\n<p>Solhabitat also invites you to pay a visit to the &#8220;Mercat de la Terra\u201d: a market held every first Saturday of the month on the Plaza Mayor. It is considered as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and is the perfect spot to enjoy a truly scenic landscape. The area has a rich history and culture displayed in the many museums of the town. Children will love the one dedicated to doll houses where as the adults can enjoy the museum of historical vehicles. It is also the home of one of Spain\u2019s most visited castles: \u201cThe castle of Guadalest or San Jose\u201d, which was built by the Moors in the 11<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solhabitat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/guadalest1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solhabitat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/guadalest1.jpg\" alt=\"guadalest1\" width=\"800\" height=\"312\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cinephiles might also recognize this wonderful place from one of the scene of the movie &#8220;My Great Greek Wedding&#8221; by Hollywood producer TOM HANKS.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Tabarca<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This beautiful island facing the city of Alicante is truly a hidden gem! It only takes a 20min ferry from Santa Pola to get there!
