Today Solhabitat is going to show you 3 cycle routes through the Marina Alta of different difficulty, in order that according to your level you choose the one that best adapts you:
Cycling Costa Blanca
1.- Cycle route through Teulada-Moraira
This route has a low difficulty with only 8 kilometers for what it’s ideal to realise with children. It’s a short circular route that departs from Teulada’s station, situated in the Mediterranean Ave (in Teulada’s entry) .During this journey we will be able to enjoy of wonderful views to the sierra of Bernia and Otlà. In addition, we will see remains of the traditional windmills that were used for extracting water of the pits.
2.-Around the Montgo nature reserve: From Denia to the port of Javea
Do you fancy a route that combines land and sea? Well, than is this yours!
This route starts in Denia, the capital of the Marina Alta. It’s well signposted and it is moderate difficult with 25 kilometers (one way). It starts in Denia, more specifically in Plaza Jaume I and it ends in the port of Javea. It’s known especially for its beautiful landscape of the Montgo, because during the entire path you won’t miss any side of this spectacular natural park! By the way, have a look at the shape of the mountain it looks like a huge elephant!
This road is excellent to a bit of tourism while you enjoy your favorite sport because during the route you will be able to get to know some of the main local attractions of the region such as the hermitage of Santa Paula in Denia and the typical constructions of our region like the riurau. Also, during the 2 and a half hours of the route, you can observe amazing landscapes of the typical Valencian fields, such as the fields of orange trees in floor, almond trees, olive trees …
To return from Javea to Denia there are two options: for the bravest ones go back cycling or … for those who are already exhausted a wonderful boat ride with exclusive views. Tickets can be purchased at Mundo Marino, which is situated in the port of Javea and don’t worry about the bicycles; they can board without any problem!
3.-Cycle route from Calpe to Coll de rates
It’s a perfect circular route bike of high difficulty with 104 kilometers. This distance addressed to professionals begins on the national highway of Calpe and passes through La Fustera in Benissa and la Cumbre del Sol. It’s a perfect combination of straight courses and ascents and it’s especially popular for its amazing views from La Cumbre del Sol!
