Javea is one of the most beautiful corners of the Costa Blanca. It has a warm climate nearly the whole year thanks to the surrounding mountains, that create an impressive landscape.
It is the perfect place to spend a complete vacation, it offers paradisiacal beaches, a wide range of leisure activities, great cultural history thanks to its´ monuments and historic buildings and a rich gastronomy.
Here are our 5 recommendations for your trip to Javea:
1.- Visit the 3 blue flag beaches:
Arenal beach: It is without a doubt the best-known beach in whole Javea. A beach of fine sand, especially clean, with crystal clear and shallow waters which makes it ideal for families with children. It has an animated promenade full of bars, restaurants and shops and offers all kind of services such as the rental of sunbeds, umbrellas, skates, jet skis …
Cala de la Grava: It is a beautiful gravel beach with clear water located in the centre of the sailor district. Next to it you will find the promenade full with clothing stores, restaurants and typical tapas bars. It has fantastic views of the Cape of San Antonio that will make your visit truly magical. Furthermore, it offers all the necessary services for a perfect day on the beach, without forgetting the entertaining floating platform for the little ones!
Cala La Granadella: It is a gravel and stone cove with very clean and transparent water, ideal for snorkeling. It is an ideal place to unwind with dream views. Here you will find very cozy restaurants and rental services of hammocks, umbrellas…
2.- Tour through the historic centre
The best thing to do is to get lost in the network of the streets and have a drink on one of the terraces of the Plaça de Baix. There are many historical monuments to visit, but the church of San Bartolomé stands out, it was built to defend the city against the pirates attack. Furthermore, we also recommend to visit the municipal market where you can find the freshest local products.
3.- A walk through the port
Don´t forget to visit the sailor district, it preserves all the history and tradition of the town. We also recommend to visit la Lonja and the fantastic church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto whose roof resembles to the hull of a ship.
4. – Try one of the traditional rice dishes in any of its variants such as arroz “a banda” or paella.
