What are the top beaches of the area of Benissa?

The beach in Benissa is one of the main attractions of this charming town located in the province of Alicante. This coastal town near Benidorm offers both a historical centre teeming with beauty and a tranquil atmosphere as well as the famous Benissa beaches.

This makes it an amazing holiday destination. With four kilometres of coast sprinkled with coves and beaches with crystal-clear waters, it’s got everything a seasoned beachgoer could ask for.

You can find unique beaches in Benissa, such as:

  • Bahía de les Bassetes.
  • Platgeta de l’Advocat.
  • Cala de la Llobella.
  • Cala Pinets.
  • Cala Baladrar.
  • Playa La Fustera, essentially “Benissa beach”.

What makes Benissa beaches so unique?

This spectacular and secluded Benissa beach is surrounded by large outcropping of rocks that make it so distinctive. With vegetation that reaches almost as far as the shore, its seabed is teeming with Neptune grass and a wide variety of fauna.

At 110 metres long and 30 metres wide, it welcomes visitors with pleasant fine sands and always offers wonderful opportunities to take photos. It is a well-maintained, rich landscape. It’s not surprising that it has won various environmental awards, such as Ecoplayas and the Blue Flag.

Activities on Benissa beach

Many visitors to Benissa beach take the opportunity to go snorkelling during their stay at La Fustera. Its calm waters with their beautiful seascape are unbeatable reasons to visit it.

Not far away is the Cova de la Fustera, which is worth the trip to admire a fantastic panoramic view of the Peñón de Ifach outcrop. Nearby, you will find the Aula del Mar, a maritime environmental awareness centre that organises interesting activities.

A great time is guaranteed. Although, it must be said that one of the greatest pleasures is simply sitting on the soft sand and allowing yourself to be captivated by the views and warmth. You can also rent kayaks, sail the seas in a jet ski and practise paddle boarding across the water.

Accessing Benissa beach

You won’t have any issues accessing La Fustera beach in Benissa. You can choose how you would like to arrive: by car, as there is parking nearby, or on foot. There are stairs to make access easier.

Given the proximity of the start of the Benissa Eco Walking Trail (Paseo Ecológico de Benissa) and the Calpe Eco Route (Sendero Ecológico de Calpe), it is a very popular area for hikers.

That said, if you plan on using the parking facilities, we recommend you arrive early, especially during peak season. It can get quite overcrowded and car spaces are limited. Keep in mind that it is the busiest and most popular cove in the area, so setting out early is usually a good idea.

The road that connects Calpe and Benissa (CV-746) is what most people usually take to arrive at La Fustera.

You also have these transport options:

  • Bus. The route only takes 11 minutes.
  • Taxi. The trip costs around €10.
  • Walking. It will take about 70 minutes.
